Greetings from the East,
One of the greatest joys of being at the helm of Hollywood Masonic Lodge is witnessing the harmonious collaboration of brothers, working together to achieve the utmost success. Our lodge continues to make remarkable strides, and the horizon appears incredibly promising.
In the previous month, we celebrated two remarkable 3rd Degrees, a Master Mason Proficiency and a memorable double 1st Degree. Additionally, we had the privilege of presenting the esteemed Golden Veteran Award to Brother Simon Segal, honoring his remarkable 50 years of dedicated service as a Master Mason. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all the Officers and individuals who wholeheartedly supported us, making all these achievements possible. Moreover, I had the pleasure of attending the 132nd Semiannual Installation of Officers for Job's Daughters, where I was awe-inspired by our future leaders. Congratulations are in order for Sadie, Shayne, Lorraine, Angelique, Ava, and Emma of Job's Daughters International Bethel No. 289 Tarzana, California. They are truly remarkable individuals.
Looking ahead, we have a host of exciting events lined up. In July, we are organizing a bowling event, followed by the presentation of the Golden Veterans Award and a captivating trip to Catalina Island in August. In September, we have the highly anticipated "Masons for Mitts" event scheduled to take place at Dodger Stadium. For further details and upcoming events, I encourage you to visit our calendar at www.hollywoodmasons.org .
Thank you for your continued support.
Sincerely and Fraternally,

The Interstellar Connection: Freemasonry and Star Trek Unveiled
Greetings, brethren and seekers of wisdom! In the realm of speculative fiction, there is a timeless saga that has captivated the imaginations of millions: Star Trek. Its futuristic setting, exploration of the human condition, and profound themes of unity and progress have resonated with fans around the globe. Yet, hidden within the depths of this beloved science fiction franchise lies a remarkable connection to the ancient and honorable institution of Freemasonry. In this article, we shall embark upon a journey to unveil the ties that bind these two seemingly disparate worlds.
At first glance, Freemasonry and Star Trek may appear to be unrelated, separated by the expanse of time and space. However, upon closer inspection, one can discern profound similarities that transcend these boundaries. Both Freemasonry and Star Trek embrace fundamental principles that advocate for the betterment of humanity, the quest for knowledge, and the pursuit of harmony and understanding among all peoples.
Freemasonry, with its rich history dating back centuries, is founded upon the principles of brotherly love, relief, and truth. Through rituals, symbols, and allegories, Freemasons seek to improve themselves and contribute positively to their communities.
Similarly, Star Trek envisions a future where humanity has transcended divisions, embracing a united vision of exploration, cooperation, and tolerance. The Federation, a governing body in the Star Trek universe, embodies the principles of egalitarianism, diversity, and the pursuit of knowledge.
It is within these shared ideals that the relationship between Freemasonry and Star Trek becomes apparent. Both institutions advocate for the moral and intellectual advancement of humankind, emphasizing the importance of education, personal growth, and the development of virtues. Freemasonry's emphasis on self-improvement aligns with Star Trek's portrayal of individuals constantly seeking to better themselves and the world around them.
Moreover, the symbolism employed in Freemasonry resonates with the themes and motifs found in Star Trek. Freemasonry utilizes symbols such as the square and compass, the pillars, and the working tools to convey profound truths and lessons. In a similar vein, Star Trek employs symbols such as the Starfleet insignia, the Prime Directive, and the iconic Vulcan hand salute to represent ideals such as honor, exploration, and logical reasoning.
Furthermore, the universal brotherhood promoted by Freemasonry is echoed in Star Trek's portrayal of a diverse and inclusive future. In the Star Trek universe, beings from various species and cultures work together harmoniously, transcending their differences for the greater good. This vision of unity and cooperation aligns with Freemasonry's core principle of brotherly love, where individuals from all walks of life come together as equals, regardless of their backgrounds or beliefs.
While the connection between Freemasonry and Star Trek may not be explicit or intentional, the philosophical and moral underpinnings shared by these two entities are undeniable. Both embrace the timeless pursuit of enlightenment, the celebration of diversity, and the hope for a brighter future for all humanity.
As Freemasons and Star Trek enthusiasts, let us recognize the parallels between these two worlds. Let us draw inspiration from the noble principles they embody and seek to incorporate them into our lives, both within and beyond the Lodge room. By doing so, we can strive to create a world that reflects the virtues of Freemasonry and the visionary ideals of Star Trek.
In conclusion, brethren, as we explore the realms of science fiction and delve into the ancient traditions of Freemasonry, we uncover an interstellar connection that bridges time, space, and imagination. Let us remember that the values of unity, progress, and brotherly love are not confined to the pages of a book or the frames of a screen but are principles that can guide us on our journey toward enlightenment and a brighter future for all.
Live long and prosper,
Fraternally submitted by,
Brother Michael Hill, Junior Deacon of Old West Masonic Lodge No 813
Interstellar Connection Freemasonry & Star Trek
Dear Members and Friends of Hollywood Lodge #355 F&AM,
In our 1st meeting of June, we had a non-Regalia meeting. This means that the girls get together and meet without their robes or setting up the Bethel. During this meeting we Did a Shopping night. The girls used this night to get look alike dress for our upcoming Grand Bethel. The girls had a good time and enjoyed the shopping experience with each other.
The 2nd meeting of the month was a Regalia meeting. This meeting was a step through meeting and we initiated another Daughter. At the next Stated meeting dinner Frinces should be there so say hi and welcome her to our Bethel.
To start off July we have our Annual Grand Bethel in Ontario this year. This year we have girls who are competing in Ritual and Music. Wish our girls luck. Grand Bethel is our annual statewide meeting where all the girls of the state get together and like Grand Lodge.
July we are dark so we will have no meetings. We do have some fun adventures planned for the summer time.
We at Bethel 289 Tarzana wish everyone to continue to be Healthy and Safe. We meet on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays every month at 7 p.m.
Fraternally,
Mr. John Schnepp
